Ready, Set, Roll!
AFL Entertainment’s flagship production, Ready to Roll, was an ambitious medieval-fantasy web-series, with it’s script generated from the Dungeons & Dragons roll playing game. Film locations and sets were pulled from the imaginations of the characters and actors, and realized by our Art Department as studio sets.
A studio set featuring ancient, overgrown ruins was visited twice by the characters, both during the day (below) and night (above). As our budget limited a full VFX makeover, over 1000 practical LED diodes were built into various artificial plants, accentuated by overhead spot and ambient lighting, as well as Lightform Projection Mapping, in order to bring this interactive, bioluminescent set to life.
From Concept to Realization
As the in-house Production Designer for AFL Entertainment, my responsibilities ranged across the Art Department, including world and concept generation and visualization, art direction, set design, project management and execution, as well as internal department oversite and mentorship. Numerous techniques and visuals, including 3D models, rendering, and illustrations were used to increase project engagement and buy-in with key stakeholders and creative leads, as well as significantly reduce change orders after builds were underway.
